Food Network Star: A Review from a Season 7 Finalist

Katy Clark, one of the finalists of last season’s Food Network Star, recently shot us an email with her excited review about the tie-in book we published this August, Food Network Star: The Official insider’s Guide to America’s Hottest Food Show. She gave us permission to share her words with you all, too.

Wow, I am loving the new cookbook.  Of course I love the full page picture of me and the season 7 stars!  I will be trying out Vic Vegas Short and Sweet braised boneless short ribs recipe stat!  And last season’s winner Jeff Mauro’s quote on the pain and pleasure of everything we experience being “extreme” is hilarious, as is he! One of the things I love best is getting to see the inside of all the other seasons and getting ’to know’ the previous stars.  I enjoy reliving all of our crazy successes through the pictures and stories of this book.  Not to mention the recipes are creative and fun!  My kids and I picked out the Rosemary Caramel Beignets for dessert this week, thanks to Alexis Hernandez and his fabulous ‘local farm’ point of view! It’s a great read, tasty cookbook and could be a useful study guide if you are thinking of trying out in the future!
