Cookbook Buzz

Hey, foodie fans! I ran across this article today on the alternative news website,, which suggests that recipes in some of the more voluminous cookbooks have become so complicated that people have resorted to using them as coffee table books instead. The quote below gave me room for pause.

“Cookbooks have become objects of kitchen, coffee table, and nightstand décor, in which useful information has been displaced by close-ups of pornographic-looking turnips.”

Gasp! I’m certain that there has to be a vegetable that’s sexier than a turnip! Cauliflower is certainly brainier. Just kidding.  But all joking aside, we here at The Secret Ingredient would love to know how many nights a week you cook from a cookbook, or do you see yourself as more of a cookbook collector?
