Monday’s Good Bites!

Good morning! I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend and is ready to start the week ahead.  I can’t think of a better way to start than with some Good Bites!

Starting to plan your Super Bowl party? If you’re looking for something a little different, you can try this recipe by Guy Fieri that appeared in USA Weekend.  For more ideas, you can also try Guy Fieri’s first two cookbooks; Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and More Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. (You can also check back later this week to see what Andy and I are planning to make for our own Super Bowl parties.)

Guy Fieri also appeared on Lopez Tonight last week. He has some of the funniest food stories I’ve ever heard!

Some taste panelists for the Detroit News tried out a few different Horseradish Mustards in an effort to find out which was best to bring to a Super Bowl party and Emeril Lagasse’s was definitely a favorite!

American Profile ran a recipe for Creamy Enchilada Dip by two of our favorite authors and chefs, Bruce Weinstein and Mark Scarbrough.  This sounds like a Super Bowl crowd pleaser, too.

The videos in this ptaeentsrion are good, but the stills are unacceptable—all of them. After praising the photographer, I think you put him in a no-win situation. Despite overly lavish praise, these pictures just don’t cut it. You’ve got white against white; you’ve got some sort of white food in overexposed strips; you haven’t even brought in a basic mat for a plausible background. This makes Sony look bad. These photos are really examples of what NOT to take. And the DSLR is overkill.
