Publishing Process: Delicious Blog Discoveries

Part of my job in the marketing department at William Morrow is to search out top bloggers and tell them about our books, in hopes that they will review or discuss the book on their blog. The first time I had to research foodie and cooking blogs, I was in awe of the amount of truly amazing blogs out there, with so many recipes, cooking tips, and enticing photos that I soon learned I should NEVER research on an empty stomach. I love telling bloggers about our new cookbooks, and in turn have found that I love reading their blogs too–I even cook more now, in thanks to a little inspiration! Here are a few of my favorites at the moment. What’s your favorite food-related blog?

1) The Pioneer Woman Cooks  I discovered Ree Drummond’s blog after William Morrow published her bestselling cookbook in 2009, and I’ve been hooked since! I’m excited to read her latest book about how she met her cowboy husband, The Pioneer Woman: Black Heels to Tractor Wheels.

2)  Dessert First  If you need to treat your sweet tooth, look no further!

3) Serious Eats  Their New York edition is the only guide to the city that I need, straight from their “Best of New York” lists to my stomach.

4) Big Girls, Small Kitchen: A Guide to Quarter Life Cooking This blog offers exactly what a twenty-something girl like me needs: recipes that are affordable, yet not impossible to make in my 2 x 2-foot kitchen. Their version of grilled cheese makes great use of pears, our Ingredient of the Month! I can’t wait for their first cookbook, In the Small Kitchen, coming out in May.

5) A Cozy Kitchen  Cozy and comforting recipes…I want to make the Sangria and Spinach and Artichoke Dip asap.
