Mar-tea-nis, Anyone?

Alice's Tea CupAs the season begins to change and we move our festive outdoor celebrations indoors, so too does our drink menu change. But does it really have to?

The fabulous owners of the NYC-based Alice’s Tea Cup have found a way to turn those classic summer drinks we love into yummy winter delights—and they provide the recipes in their brand-new book! One that caught my eye was the Mango Maté Mimosa.

Haley and Lauren have created a recipe that mixes together a blissful blend of three of my favorite ingredients—mangos, tea, and champagne—in a way that only they could have imagined!

Mango Maté Mimosa
MAKES 1 COCKTAIL

  • 1 ounce Mango Maté Concentrate (recipe follows)
  • 1 ounce orange juice
  • 3 ounces chilled champagne
  • Mango Maté Concentrate
    Mar-tea-ini

  • 1 heaping tablespoon of Mango Maté tea leaves (www.alicesteacup.com)

Steep the tea in ¼ cup of boiling-hot water for 3 minutes. Then strain the tea, discarding the leaves. Refrigerate until cool. (Do not use in a cocktail until it has cooled completely.)

Pour the cooled Mango Maté Concentrate into a champagne flute. Add the orange juice. Top it off with the champagne. Stir well.
